What is sovereign AI infrastructure for a commercial organization?
It is AI compute, storage and networking that stays under your control and inside a boundary you can verify: private hardware, a private network, defined data residency and no exposure to the public internet. For an enterprise, that means sensitive data, prompts, outputs and model weights never leave the environment you approved.
Isn't this just private cloud with a new name?
No. Many "sovereign" offerings are shared cloud with a compliance overlay. Eminence Sovereign combines dedicated GPU clusters, a private backbone, post-quantum security and a control plane that lets you verify isolation and residency yourself, in real time, rather than taking a provider's word for it.
How fast can we go live?
Eminence states that the full process, from discovery to go-live, can be completed in a matter of months, with contracting led by its in-house counsel. MALA helps you have requirements, stakeholders and evaluation criteria ready so your side does not become the bottleneck.
How is it priced?
Two ways. You can reserve a complete infrastructure system on a single contract at a flat monthly rate over a defined term, or consume resources on transparent metering: GPU-hours by class (reserved or burst), compute hours, storage by performance tier, and bandwidth by assurance tier. Either way, AI stays on an operating budget instead of a capital build.
Can we bring our own models?
Yes. You can run your own models, or open-weight models assessed for technical and licensing fit during scoping. Compute is matched to the work, whether that is reasoning, inference, private training or HPC.
Which compliance frameworks are supported?
Eminence's compliance program includes foundational controls and audits (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and NIST 800-53 Revision 5), with custom compliance such as HIPAA and PCI DSS available on request. Status is confirmed per deployment, and MALA requests that documentation in every evaluation.
Who owns and operates the infrastructure?
Eminence Grey, LLC designs, builds, owns and operates the Eminence Sovereign infrastructure. MALA is an independent advisor and strategic partner: we help you define requirements, evaluate sovereign, cloud and hybrid options, and stay involved through deployment and sustainment.
